At this point it's a good idea to grab a piece of paper and create a table to record the details of your IKEA MAXIMERA drawers. Let's walk through an example with a fictional kitchen (that i wouldn't recommend building!)

  • Drawers 2, 6, 8 and 10 are 'bottom drawers'

  • All other drawers are defined as 'upper drawers'

  • Garbage sorting drawers are considered 'bottom drawers'

Note that for the example there are also three internal drawers in the 2nd, 3rd & 4th cabinets from the left. We do not list these in our table since internal drawers are not converted to push-to-open.

Columns A - F should be pretty straightforward to complete from your plan or just measuring your current kitchen.

Column G is an approximation of the Synchronization rod size you'll need for that drawer. Just subtract 25cm from the width of the cabinet that the drawer sits in. Column H will be explained shortly.

Make a note of the number of bottom drawers and upper drawers.
