Gather your drawer sizes

At this point it's a good idea to grab a piece of paper and create a table to record the details of your IKEA MAXIMERA drawers. Let's walk through an example with a fictional kitchen (that i wouldn't recommend building!)

  • Drawers 3, 6, 8,10 and 11 are 'bottom drawers'

  • All other drawers are defined as 'upper drawers'

  • Garbage sorting drawers are considered 'bottom drawers'

Columns A - F should be pretty straightforward to complete from your plan or just measuring your current kitchen.

Column G is an approximation of the Synchronization rod size you'll need for that drawer. Just subtract 10" from the width of the cabinet that the drawer sits in. Column H will be explained shortly.

Make a note on the number of bottom drawers and upper drawers.
